Statement Of Terms And Conditions Of Employment
Holiday Conditions
Al-Rushd Academy holiday year runs from 1st September to 31st July. Holidays may not be taken while the academy is open. If for any reason you need to take holiday during the days while the academy is open, then any requests for holidays must be received at least 4 weeks in advance.
Absence from work
All staff must inform their immediate manager/headteacher of their inability to attend work at least 24 hours before the working day. Employees must make every attempt to contact their manager personally. Only in exceptional circumstances will a message from a family member or friend be viewed as acceptable.
If absence from work is likely to last for more than one day, the employee must telephone their manager to advise of their progress and expected date of return to work. Failure to keep in touch with the manager will be regarded as a disciplinary matter.
Notice
Your entitlement to notice from the Academy is 4 weeks. In the event of you leaving the employment of the academy of your own accord, you must give the Company a minimum of a term’s notice. The academy reserves the right to withhold a proportion of final salary should the appropriate notice period not be worked.
Changes in Terms and Conditions of Employment
Al-Rushd Academy reserves the right to make changes to the terms and conditions of your employment in order to satisfy the needs of the business. Such changes will be notified to you prior to implementation.
Data Protection Act
Before you started work with Al-Rushd Academy you either completed an application form or submitted a CV giving personal details about yourself. These details are held on file in the Personnel Department. The Data Protection Act 1998 requires me to inform you about all the data that we hold about you on computerised and manual records.
Computerised Data
Data held about you in computerised records comprises the following:
Name, address, telephone number, date of birth, gender, start date, salary, contracted working hours, absences.
Manual Data
Data held about you in manual records comprises the following:
All of the information held in computerised records, plus your completed application form and/or CV, health and safety forms.

All of the information outlined above is held for personal purposes only.
